Welcome to the Pilot episode of the Notice To Move podcast. In this episode I will let you know what to expect from the upcoming shows, the concept behind this venture and what inspired me to begin this journey and create this community with you.

So What's It All About?

In this weekly podcast you can expect to find a healthy variety of interviews, good lessons, hints and tips, plenty of good gen and a dollop of inspiration. I believe there is one good business in everyone, we just need to find out what it is and execute successfully. That is what this podcast aims to do for those who are, or have been, part of the military family. I feel it is important to build a community around this by acknowledging and utilising our unique challenges and advantages that are inherently different to ordinary businesses. This will be an online resource allowing people to access the help and support they need, wherever they are in the world, and combat some of the hassle that comes from being unsure where to turn in a new station or location.

Who am I?

So what do you need to know about Jo Milmine? Well, I am business owning military spouse veteran. Rolls off the tongue! I was an Officer in the RAF, in the Aerospace Battle Management/Fighter Control branch, for 6 years. After leaving the RAF I moved to South Africa and started what is now a multi-award winning podcast about knitting. Upon our return to the UK I started another business, The Golden Skein, a hand dyed yarn subscription club that sends out packages all over the world, partnering with independent dyers worldwide to produce bespoke colourways. So far I have run those from 5 homes. For the previous 2 years I have been running a consultancy business working primarily with small business owners to help them manage the overwhelm of a growing business with new strategies and management systems.
